The Role

The Store Manager will report direct to the General Manager on a weekly basis supplying a full analytical review of the stores operations. This is a pivotal position to manage and direct overall operations of the store to ensure company profitability through the provision of continuous sales activities while demonstrating excellent customer service skills and a high level of organisational management. A highly motivated individual and ability to work on your own initiative, commercially focused individual with previous sales and or retail management in this progressive environment is essential to grow and develop the business.

 Sales Responsibilities

  • Letting of Rooms / Selling of Insurance / Selling of Merchandise
  • Following up enquiries
  • Managing existing accounts
  • Processing of cash / card and BACS payments & Credit Control

 Operational Responsibilities

  • Coaching, and motivating your team to drive sales that deliver exceptional customer service
  • Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction by being knowledgeable on all products offered to provide an excellent sales service
  • Develop and sustain sales activities of others that ensure maximum profit
  • Delivering sales, customer experience, merchandising, visual, and operational expectations
  • Ensuring the store is running smoothly on a consistent basis
  • Ensuring the store presents itself to a high standard of cleanliness
  • Act as a partner between customers, sales associates and store leadership
  • Leading from the front; meeting objectives and policies
  • Flexible availability – including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Key Holder and Alarm Responsibilities

 Financial Responsibilities

  • Full P&L accountability of the store, which includes controlling cost/margins, wastage, and consumables
  • Meeting the stores budget, financial and sales targets
  • Financial Reporting

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrated leadership ability with at least 2 years of experience in a customer-facing sales setting
  • Strong cognitive and mathematical skills, including problem analysis, decision making and financial analysis
  • Ability to analyse and interpret financial and statistical data
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to learn and share expertise of products and trends to fit customer’s needs
  • Maintains an awareness of all product knowledge, and current or upcoming product / trends
  • Flexible availability – including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Live within 30 minutes travelling time of the store
  • Hold a full driving licence

Preferred but not Essential Experience within:          

Self Storage / Removals / Retail / Direct Sales / Customer Services / Financial Services

Hours of Work

40 hours per week rota shifts:  Monday to Friday 08.00 to 19.00, Saturday 09.00 to 18.00 & Sunday 10.00 to 16:00

 Salary

£18,500 to £20,500 pa subject to experience + bonus subject to OTE
